About Pyrite

Pyrite (noun): Iron sulfide mineral (FeS₂). Pale brass-yellow, metallic luster. Physically indistinguishable from gold to the untrained eye.
We chose the name deliberately
Performance records look compelling. Strategies are described with precision. And yet the genuine, differentiated, risk-adjusted return is difficult to isolate. Most allocators work with the same information as everyone else - the same tearsheets, the same cap intro events, the same qualitative filters. The best-marketed strategy is not always the best strategy.
What we do
Pyrite Risk Experts is an institutional analytics platform for the hedge fund industry. We apply a rigorous framework deploying academic research, the latest innovative techniques, and billions of measures, to deliver a systematic, comparable picture of every strategy in our universe - from established funds to the emerging managers invisible to institutional allocators.
For allocators: genuine alpha identification, sourced from data rather than from introductions.
For portfolio managers: the ability to see your strategy the way allocators will - understand your exposures, differentiate your signal, construct your message.
Who we serve
Allocators: family offices, endowments, funds-of-funds, institutional investors, and high-net-worth individuals conducting due diligence on hedge funds and alternative strategies.
Fund managers : established hedge funds, emerging managers, portfolio managers at family offices and banks, and systematic strategy developers seeking to benchmark their strategy with the analytical standards applied by institutional allocators.
